Receipts, VAT and POS for salons in Czechia after the end of EET
After the end of electronic revenue records (EET) in 2023, how salons in Czechia view receipts and the till has changed. This article is a practical overview, not tax advice β check specific obligations with an accountant or the tax authority, as rules change. As of: June 2026.

What changed after the end of EET
EET was abolished, so salons no longer record revenue via EET. That does not mean the end of receipts: a receipt on request and order in your revenue still make sense β for overview, complaints and calm bookkeeping. The till remains useful even without an EET obligation.
Receipts in practice
Even without EET it is good to issue a clear document: date, service, amount, salon details if needed. When the till is linked with the booking, the document is created quickly and without retyping. That saves time at the front desk and reduces errors.
VAT: registered or not
Some salons are VAT-registered, some are not β depending on turnover and situation. If you are registered, the till and documents must handle correct rates and reports. This article does not replace advice; discuss registration with an accountant.
A till linked with bookings
A plain calendar will not show how much a service earns and which products leave stock. The link between booking, payment and the till gives an overview by service and staff member. What metrics are for is summarised in booking analytics.
Online payments and deposits
The till often connects with online payments and deposits for more expensive services. The payment provider charges a transaction fee; the logic of deposits is explained in deposits in booking. For small businesses a system for small salons helps.
Data and GDPR
Receipts and purchase history connect with client data. The till and booking therefore need roles and safe handling of data β the framework is explained in booking systems and GDPR.
Cash, card and QR payment
Clients in Czechia pay by cash, card and QR payment. The till should handle all three and link them with the document and booking. Less manual retyping means fewer errors and a calmer end of day. When a payment is immediately linked to the right document, reconciliation with the accountant is easier too.
What to prepare for the accountant
Even without EET you appreciate clear records: revenue by day, service and payment method. When the till is linked with bookings, these reports appear by themselves and the accountant's work is faster. Agree with your accountant which outputs they need and set them up from the start.
Conclusion
After the end of EET the till is not an EET obligation but still a useful tool: fast receipts, a revenue overview and a link with bookings. Discuss specific tax obligations with an accountant. Want the product context for Czechia? See YourSalon for Czechia.
